Whether FA Cup replays are a good idea depends on who you ask.

For Premier League sides, they are simply an inconvenience, eating into the top division's winter break this season. However, for lower league opposition, they are enormous occasions, often providing some much-needed revenue.

There will be eight FA Cup third-round replays this year, with seven Premier League sides in action and plenty of room for FA Cup magic.

Here is how you can watch the FA Cup third-round replays on TV and live stream.

When are FA Cup third round replays?

With the fourth round commencing at the end of the month, third-round replays need to be crammed into the coming midweek. All eight games will take place on the 16 and 17 January, with five matches occurring this Tuesday and three on Wednesday.

All fixtures are evening kick-offs and matches will be played at the home venues of the sides that were away teams during the first encounter.

Which FA Cup third round replays are on TV and live stream?

Only two of the eight FA Cup third-round replays will be broadcast live on TV. On Tuesday 16 January, Bristol City vs West Ham United will be available on BBC One and the BBC iPlayer.

On Wednesday 17 January, the only game on TV is Blackpool vs Nottingham Forest, the match being broadcast on ITV4 and ITVX. The match will also be free to listen to on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Two of the teams that will be most excited by the prospect of winning their FA Cup third-round replays are National League Eastleigh and League Two Newport County. The pair played out a 1-1 draw in their first meeting, but the winner of the tie faces a home clash with Man Utd in the fourth round.

Either Bristol Rovers or Norwich City will also face a Premier League giant in the fourth round, with the victor from their replay heading to Anfield to play Liverpool.

Wolverhampton Wanderers would set up a Midlands clash with West Bromwich Albion in the fourth round if they beat Brentford in their replay, while Hull City or Birmingham City will travel to Championship table-toppers Leicester City if they progress.

The winner of Bristol City and West Ham's clash will line up against the victorious side from the replay between Blackpool and Nottingham Forest, while Bolton Wanders or Luton Town will meet either Everton or Crystal Palace in the fourth round.
