Inter Miami 1-5 Austin FC: Player ratings as Austin becomes first MLS side to reach 10 goals in opening two games

Austin FC triumphed 5-1 over Inter Miami on Sunday at Q2 stadium as goals from Sebastian Driussi, Ethan Finley and Julio Cascante sealed the team’s second consecutive victory.
In only two weeks, Austin FC has already proved they could be a true contender. The expansion team, who concluded last season in 14th place on the Western Conference table, now holds the record of first MLS side to score 10 goals in the opening two games of a season.
Sebastian Driussi kicked off the scoring, making himself available in the 26th minute to connect with Diego Fagúndez and find the net. Julio Cascante then doubled the tally, working off of a set piece to head the ball into the upper right corner.
Austin FC carried their offensive dominance into the second half, resulting in Driussi’s second goal of the game. The forward leaped to get the rebound, striking the ball mid-air to beat Inter Miami goalkeeper Clément Diop.
Leonardo Campana, who’s on loan from Premier League side Wolves, came off the bench to pull one back for Miami in the 53rd minute but his success was quickly drowned by Ethan Finley, who entered the match to score Austin’s fourth and fifth.
One of the lowest scorers of the 2021 season has now managed five goals in two consecutive matches.
