Inter Miami predicted lineup vs Chicago Fire - MLS
- Inter Miami picked up a 3-1 win over Toronto FC Wednesday night
- Miami boss Tata Martino will be without Lionel Messi, Benjamain Cremaschi and Diego Gomez
- Martino could look to give Luis Suarez the nod up front after a poor performance from Leo Campana last time out
Inter Miami face a quick turnaround when they play host to Chicago Fire Saturday night in Major League Soccer action.
Gerardo 'Tata' Martino's team are coming off a 3-1 victory over Toronto FC at home, quickly silencing their critics after their embarrassing 6-1 defeat to FC Cincinnati a couple weeks back. Federico Redondo led the way with two goals and an assist as Miami returned to the top of the Supporters' Shield standings.
Martino stuck with his preferred 4-3-3 setup against Toronto, and you can expect for him to do the same against the struggling Fire. The former Mexico national team boss will have to make a few changes to his starting lineup as Serhiy Kryvtsov picked up a calf injury while Diego Gomez and Benjamin Cremaschi are both headed to compete at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Here's how the Herons could lineup against Chicago.
Inter Miami predicted lineup vs Chicago Fire ( 4-3-3 )
GK: Drake Callender - Callender put in a shift in his 100th game as a Heron against Toronto, making a few key saves to play his part in the win.
RB: Marcelo Weigandt - 'Chelo' Weigandt returns to the XI after missing out against Toronto due to yellow card accumulation.
CB: Tomas Aviles - The 20-year-old keeps things in check in the backline as his stock continues to rise.
CB: Noah Allen - With Kryvtsov out for the foreseeable future, Allen will look to impress in the backline in the meantime.
LB: Jordi Alba - The veteran full-back was in full force Wednesday night with his exceptional movement and delivery and he'll hope to put in a similar performance vs Chicago.
CM: Julian Gressel - As Cremaschi is set to depart for Paris, Gresslel drops back into midfield essentially swapping places with Matias Rojas.
CM: Sergio Busquets - Martino will be delighted that his midfield general returns to the lineup after serving a one-match suspension for a red card shown in the defeat to Cincinnati.
CM: - Federico Redondo - The 21-year-old is coming off his best performance to date in an Inter Miami jersey and will bring tons of confidence into the upcoming match.
RW: Matias Rojas - The Paraguay international is set to make his second start since returning from Copa America and now back in his favored position on the wing.
ST: Luis Suarez - El Pistolero gets the nod up front for the first time since the conclusion of Copa America, looking to add to his 12 goals scored this season.
LW: Robert Taylor - The veteran winger is enjoying a quiet yet solid season for the Herons and will look to make an impact on the left-wing.
