Inter Miami predicted lineup vs New York Red Bulls - MLS
- Lionel Messi will miss the contest due a hamstring injury
- Tata Martino is forced to play a left-back at right-back due to the international break
- Luis Suarez and Leo Campana start together in a strike partnership
Inter Miami head coach Gerardo 'Tata' Martino will be without a couple of key players for his team's Saturday afternoon clash with New York Red Bulls.
The Herons will have to make do without superstar Lionel Messi for the third straight MLS game with the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner still recovering from a hamstring injury. Nicolas Freire is also dealing with a hamstring problem that could see Serhiy Kryvstov slot into the lineup against Red Bulls.
Martino will be forced to put a makeshift XI together with the likes of Federico Redondo, David Ruiz, Drake Callender and Diego Gomez on all international duty this week.
Here's how Martino could lineup as his side are in search of their third consecutive victory in all competitions.
Inter Miami predicted lineup vs New York Red Bulls ( 4-4-2 )
GK: Carlos Dos Santos - With Drake Callender called up to the USMNT, Dos Santos looks certain to make his second appearance for the Herons.
RB: Noah Allen - Even though it's not his preferred position on the right, the 19-year-old will have to make do at left-back.
CB: Tomas Aviles - The young defender is all set to play another 90 minutes in the Miami backline.
CB: Serhiy Kryvstov - With Nicolas Freire out through injury, the veteran figure steps in to anchor the defense for the time being.
LB: Jordi Alba - The former Spain international should be fully-fit for this one after coming off the bench late on against DC United.
RM: Julian Gressel - The former Atlanta United and Columbus Crew player will feature from the jump in a similar position to when he's deployed as a wing-back.
CM: Lawson Sunderland - The minutes are starting to come at a rather quick pace for the inexperienced midfielder and he'll hope to build on his solid showing against Montreal.
CM: Sergio Busquets - Another start in the midfield for the veteran figure who continues to be the glue in the team.
LM: Robert Taylor - Martino has no choice but to utilize the Taylor in a more defensive and wider position given the injuries and lack of depth in his squad.
ST: Leo Campana - The young Ecuadorian will hope to prove himself once again and build on his excellent showing vs DC United.
ST: Luis Suarez - Messi's best mate will partner with Campana up front after playing just 15 minutes off the bench last weekend.
