Inter Miami predicted lineup vs New York Red Bulls - MLS
- Miami toppled New England Revolution 4-1 last time out at Gillette Stadium
- Luis Suarez came off the bench and added Miami's fourth goal of the contest late on
- Lionel Messi looks set to start out wide once again and will aim to add to his nine goals scored
Inter Miami and Lionel Messi square off against New York Red Bulls this Saturday in Major League Soccer action.
The Herons ran riot last time out against New England Revolution, putting four past the struggling Eastern Conference club after conceding in the opening minute of the game.
Miami boss Gerardo 'Tata' Martino stuck to his guns with his preferred 4-3-3 setup against the Revs, and you can expect the former Mexico national team coach to do the same this weekend with the Herons playing at home.
Luis Suarez will more than likely be the only change after getting a breather last week when Leo Campana started up front. Matias Rojas made his first appearance for Miami and helped set up the team's fourth and final goal of the contest, but it might be a little too soon for him to be thrown into the starting lineup.
Here's how Miami could lineup vs New York.
Inter Miami predicted lineup vs New York Red Bulls ( 4-3-3 )
GK: Drake Callender - The veteran shot-stopper will hope to rectify his baffling mistake committed at the start of Revs clash when he came sprinting off his line for no apparent reason.
RB: Marcelo Weigandt - Weigandt might have his hands full Saturday night against the explosive Emil Forsberg.
CB: Tomas Aviles - Another start is on the cards for the young center-back who continues to improve game by game.
CB: Nicolas Freire - With Serhiy Kryvstov now fit again, Freire will have to put his best foot forward in order to keep his place in the team.
LB: Franco Negri - Negri gets the nod at left-back due to Jordi Alba's hamstring injury.
CM: Julian Gressel - The dead-ball specialist will aim to grab an assist or two should Miami win a free kick in a dangerous area.
CM: Sergio Busquets - The experienced midfielder anchors the middle of the park and will need his fellow midfielders to be up to speed against the impressive Frankie Amaya and Daniel Edelman.
CM: David Ruiz - Ruiz earns another start in the XI but Benjamin Cremaschi could have something to say if his performances start to drop.
RW: Lionel Messi - No questions here, as Miami's No. 10 looks to add to his staggering nine goals scored in 2024.
ST: Luis Suarez - After Campana was given the start up front vs New England, Suarez returns to the lineup aiming to add a couple of goals to propel Miami to victory.
LW: Robert Taylor - The Finland international starts for the second straight game with Rojas eager to take his place in the team.
