Inter Miami predicted lineup vs St Louis CITY - MLS
- Inter Miami suffered a 3-1 defeat to Atlanta United Wednesday night
- The Herons will look to get back on track at home vs St Louis CITY
- Julian Gressel could make way in the midfield for one of Miami's young stars
Inter Miami return to action this weekend at Chase Stadium, eyeing up three points vs Western Conference side St Louis CITY.
The south Florida side were on the end of a disappointing 3-1 defeat last time out against in-conference rivals Atlanta United. It was an odd match from the Herons as their dull performance brought their impressive recent run of form to a screeching halt.
Despite falling Wednesday night, Miami boss Gerardo 'Tata' Martino will still feel confident that his 4-3-3 system gives his team the best chance of collecting three points this weekend. With nearly all of his first-choice players available, Martino and Miami have no excuses heading into this one as they aim to get back to winning ways.
Here's how Miami could lineup vs St Louis.
Inter Miami predicted lineup vs St Louis CITY ( 4-3-3 )
GK: Drake Callender - The USMNT backup shot-stopper will look to put in a better performance Saturday night after a below part outing vs Atlanta.
RB: Marcelo Weigandt - Weigandt is usually hailed for his ability in the final third but it was nowhere to be seen Wednesday night.
CB: Tomas Aviles - The young Argentine defender will aim to put in a better showing against a tricky St Louis attack.
CB: Serhiy Kryvtsov - His lack of pace was exposed against the lightning quick Atlanta attack. Thankfully, St Louis don't exactly have the pace that Atlanta do in their wings.
LB: Jordi Alba - Alba keeps his place in the XI despite playing the full 90 vs the Five Stripes.
CM: Benjamin Cremaschi - The teenage midfielder returns to the lineup after getting a breather on Wednesday.
CM: Sergio Busquets - His assist to Lionel Messi vs Atlanta covered up what was largely an underwhelming performance from the midfield general.
CM: Federico Redondo - Redondo anchors the middle of the park alongside the veteran Busquets.
RW: Lionel Messi - The game's greatest-ever player captains David Beckham's club and will be annoyed that his excellent strike wasn't enough to spark a comeback vs Atlanta.
ST: Luis Suarez - Suarez leads the line for the Herons. Should he put in another dull 90 up front, it wouldn't be a huge surprise to see Leo Campana lead the attack in the following match.
LW: Matias Rojas - The Paraguay international gets the nod at left-wing after featuring as a substitute in the midweek.
