Inter predicted lineup vs Juventus - Serie A
Inter travel to Turin to face Juventus on Sunday night as their chances of retaining the Serie A title hang in the balance.
Simone Inzaghi had suffered just one defeat and led Inter to the table's summit by mid-January. Yet, in the nine games since, Inter have taken just nine points and drawn their last four away matches.
Here's the lineup Inzaghi may deploy to reignite their Scudetto charge and avoid a fifth straight stalemate on the road for the first time since 2004.
Inter predicted lineup vs Juventus - Serie A
1. Goalkeeper & defenders
Samir Handanovic (GK) - Inter's veteran skipper has the best save percentage of any regular keeper in Serie A, denying four out of every five shots that fly his way.
Milan Skriniar (CB) - The second foul Skriniar ever committed in Serie A earned him a straight red card and gave away a penalty in his Sampdoria days against - you guessed it - Juventus in 2016.
Stefan de Vrij (CB) - A stalwart of Lazio's backline when Inzaghi was also in Rome missed the last two games of March with calf problems he is expected to have recovered from.
Alessandro Bastoni (CB) - Still only 22, Bastoni is the youngest player to start a Serie A game for Inter this season.
2. Midfielders & wingbacks
Denzel Dumfries (RWB) - Guilty of a needless leg dangle in Serie A's reverse fixture with Juventus, Dumfries is one of eight players in Italy's top flight to have conceded and won a spot-kick this season.
Nicolo Barella (CM) - Five of Barella's nine Serie A assists this season have been converted by Lautaro Martinez - no other pairing in the division can boast a more prolific partnership this term (per WhoScored).
Marcelo Brozovic (CM) - The fulcrum around which all Inter's play pivots has missed three league games all season - Inter collected two of a possible nine points in these matches.
Hakan Calhanoglu (CM) - Since an outrageous glut of five goals in the space of six games leading up to the turn of the year, Calhanoglu has gone 11 matches without thundering any efforts into the net.
Ivan Perisic (LWB) - Inter's indefatigable left flank omnipresence could join his teammate Brozovic and compatriot Milan Badelj as the third Croatian to rack up 200 Serie A appearances since 1994 this weekend.
3. Forwards
Edin Dzeko (ST) - Inter's joint-top scorer across all competitions has lost all five of his career appearances at Juve's Allianz Stadium without a goal for himself or any of his teammates on each and every occasion.
Lautaro Martinez (ST) - A positive case of COVID-19 he has since ditched prevented Lautaro from joining up with his national team for the first window since September 2018.
