Inter predicted lineup vs Sheriff - Champions League
Inter will look to kickstart their Champions League campaign when they face Moldovan outfit Sheriff on Tuesday night.
The Serie A champions are yet to score a goal in the competition so far this season and are five points behind Sheriff, who have won both their games to sit pretty at the top of Group D.
Defeat to Lazio at the weekend means Simone Inzaghi's side come into this fixture in differing form and needing a victory to boost their prospects of knockout stage qualification.
Here's the side they may go with on Tuesday.
Inter predicted lineup vs Sheriff - Champions League
1. Goalkeeper & defenders
Samir Handanovic (GK) - Has been Inter's goalie for almost ten years. May have competition in the future in the form of Andre Onana but for now is firmly their best goalkeeper.
Milan Skriniar (CB) - Has probably been Inter's best defender so far this season. Excellent on the ball and can chip in with a goal every now and then too.
Stefan de Vrij (CB) - Was named Serie A's best defender for the 2019/20 season and was crucial again the next term in their title victory.
Alessandro Bastoni (CB) - One of Italy's best prospects, though was run ragged during the 3-1 defeat to Lazio.
2. Wing backs and midfielders
Denzel Dumfries (RWB) - Enjoyed an excellent Euro 2020 campaign in the summer but is yet to nail down a starting Nerazzurri spot. Could come in for Matteo Darmian.
Nicolo Barella (CM) - Enjoyed a brilliant 2021 with success at club and international level. Scored and was exceptional in Italy's 2-1 victory over Belgium in the Nations League.
Marcelo Brozovic (CM) - A consistent starter for Inter and one of the world's best defensive midfielders. Scored his first international goal for Croatia for five years during the recent break.
Matias Vecino (CM) - Roberto Gagliardini was pretty average on Saturday, so Vecino could be drafted in as his replacement. Has been at Inter for four years but rarely been seen as an automatic starter.
Ivan Perisic (LWB) - Did score a penalty at the weekend, though may be dropped into a wing back role so another striker can be brought in up front.
3. Forwards
Edin Dzeko (ST) - Often enjoyed himself in UCL action with Roma but is yet to score in the competition with Inter. Has six league goals this season.
Lautaro Martinez (ST) - Inter's main man following the departure of Romelu Lukaku in the summer, Martinez has started the season in good form. Was linked with an exit but is expected to sign a new contract soon.
