After relinquishing the Serie A title to fierce rivals Milan, Inter are plotting to return to the summit of Italian football this summer.

Their transfer window kicked off with the hammer blow that Ivan Perisic - who enjoyed a superb season - would be leaving San Siro for a new challenge in north London.

However, it's not all doom and gloom with Inter closing in on several top players. Here is how they could line up once all of their business is done.

Inter 2022/23 goalkeepers

Although it has not been 100% confirmed yet, Andre Onana's summer move to Inter is happening.

He is set to compete with veteran Samir Handanovic for the number-one jersey, though the long-time first choice stopper is yet to sign a new contract with his current deal expiring in June.

Alex Cordaz is out of contract too and should depart. Ionut Radu will be around and could play a more prominent role if Handanovic decides to leave.

Inter 2022/23 defenders

Once again several Inter centre-backs are being linked with moves to the Premier League. Milan Skriniar and Stefan de Vrij have one year left on their respective deals and both could be tempted to take the leap.

However, the future of Alessandro Bastoni is a more pressing concern.

Inter have already lost one important player to Tottenham and they could be set to see another follow him out of the door. Bremer would be the ideal replacement, though they face competition for his services this summer.

Robin Gosens seems a natural replacement for Perisic at left wing-back but Aleksandar Kolorov's departure means they seriously lack depth in that position - with Federico Dimarco the only other natural left-sided defender.

Over on the other side Matteo Darmian and Denzel Dumfries seem perfectly adequate as options, but Danilo D'Ambrosio could need replacing.

Inter 2022/23 midfielders

Nicolo Barella's spot could not be much safer and Marcelo Brozovic penning fresh terms is a big boost to Inter's chances too.

Hakan Calhanoglu proved to be a smart addition last summer and this trio will likely start the 2022/23 as the first choice midfielders.

Arturo Vidal is departing which should free up space on the wage bill, but he will need replacing.

Inter 2022/23 forwards

Joaquin Correa will be arriving on a permanent transfer last summer but reports suggest Inter may move him on straight away after an underwhelming loan spell.

Lautaro Martinez, as he always is, continues to be linked with a move away from San Siro and it may be tough to keep hold of him if someone comes in with a serious offer.

Inter have plenty of irons in the fire to replace him if he does go. They look in pole position to sign Paulo Dybala and remain keen on a reunion with Romelu Lukaku. Perhaps some sort of swap deal with Chelsea for Martinez is in order?

Further down the pecking order aging pair Alexis Sanchez and Edin Dzeko will likely see some minutes too.
