Italy predicted lineup vs England - Nations League
By Tom Gott
Italy will play host to England on Friday as they look to hammer the final nail into the Three Lions' Nations League coffin.
A miserable campaign has seen Italy fail to qualify for the World Cup and begin flirting with relegation from their Nations League group, but they're up against an England side in an even bigger rut and one who need a win here to be in with any real chance of survival.
Here's how Roberto Mancini could set up.
Italy predicted lineup vs England (4-3-3)
GK: Gianluigi Donnarumma - England's nemesis in the Euro 2020 final, Donnarumma has six clean sheets in 11 club appearances this season.
RB: Giovanni Di Lorenzo - Pasquale Mazzocchi has earned his first call-up but he's still got a long way to go to displace Di Lorenzo.
CB: Alessandro Bastoni - The new star of Italy's defence, there will be plenty of scouts in attendance watching 23-year-old Bastoni.
CB: Leonardo Bonucci - Bonucci hasn't enjoyed the best start with Juventus this year and will likely be relishing the chance to focus on his country instead.
LB: Emerson - Mancini declined to call up Destiny Udogie for this round of fixtures, with many fans frustrated at the idea of seeing Emerson start once again.
DM: Jorginho - The Chelsea man is one of those players who appears to play better for their country than their club.
CM: Nicolo Barella - Barella has two goals and two assists in seven Serie A outings this year.
CM: Sandro Tonali - Marco Verratti is likely to miss out through injury, which should open the door for Tonali to earn another start.
RW: Vincenzo Grifo - Injuries haven't been kind to Italy up top. Matteo Politano is the latest casualty, so Grifo may be needed to fill in on the right.
ST: Gianluca Scamacca - Scamacca has endured a slow start to life at West Ham but still looks like Italy's striker of the future.
LW: Wilfried Gnonto - Limited options could see young Gnonto handed another start.
