The distraught look on Jack Grealish's face was not a pretty sight as the Manchester City winger trudged off the Kenilworth Road turf on Tuesday night.

Having been handed a rare opportunity to start during Man City's 6-2 FA Cup victory against Luton Town, the England international suffered a fresh injury setback that saw him withdrawn before half-time.

Grealish was visibly emotional as he took his seat on the bench, consoled by teammates as he watched Man City fly to a staggering victory without him.

Here is the latest news on Grealish's injury and when he could return for the Cityzens.

Grealish initially pulled up just after the half-hour mark at Kenilworth Road, with replays suggesting he tweaked a muscle after making a pass out on the right flank. After continuing for a short period, the 28-year-old quickly realised he couldn't play on and was replaced by Jeremy Doku before the break.

After the game, Pep Guardiola confirmed that Grealish had suffered a groin injury, stating: "I didn't speak to doctors but I think he complained a bit about the groin. Maybe a little bit similar. He felt really good but unfortunately was injured again at the beginning of the game."

Grealish had just returned from several weeks on the sidelines after sustaining an injury during Man City's Champions League last 16 first leg against Copenhagen in mid-March, and is now staring at another spell in the treatment room.

The timeframe for Grealish's recovery is unlikely to be known until Man City's medical team can do the appropriate tests, with Guardiola left fearing the worst.

With some big games on the horizon for Man City, including fixtures against Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal before the end of March, Guardiola will be hoping he has Grealish back as quickly as possible.
