Jadon Sancho could miss remainder of season for Man Utd

Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick has confessed that Jadon Sancho may not be seen for the remainder of the season as he continues his battle with tonsillitis.
The 22-year-old summer signing endured a slow start to life at Old Trafford following his big-money move from Borussia Dortmund, but eventually started to find his feet and enjoyed a purple patch in form earlier this year.
Unfortunately, his momentum was curtailed by a case of tonsillitis which kept him out of the 1-1 draw with Chelsea and, according to Rangnick, could sideline him for a little while longer.
What did Rangnick say about Sancho?
“Jadon might be out for the rest of the season with his tonsillitis. He will most likely be unavailable against Brentford," he said.
“He’s got inflammation on his tonsils and has also had some high temperatures so that’s why he was not available [against Chelsea] and he will most certainly not be available for the next two matches,” he said.
“Hopefully, they can get hold of that inflammation and if his tonsils have to be removed, that can happen at the end of the season.”

Man Utd team news vs Brentford
Monday's meeting with Brentford will be United's final home game of the season, but there are a number of players who won't be there to celebrate.
Alongside Sancho, there will be no signs of either Luke Shaw or Paul Pogba as both battle injuries, but Rangnick is optimistic that there could be spots on the bench for both Fred and Edinson Cavani after the pair returned to light training.
This match looks set to be the final chance for out-of-contract trio Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic and Jesse Lingard to say goodbye to the United crowd, but Rangnick has already rejected suggestions he could select players just to give them a nice send-off.
"I would like to but it is also about getting the best possible result and the best possible performance," Rangnick said.
"Juan Mata played the last 15 minutes, Nema almost the whole game, it is not about saying farewell to the supporters. If that is possible I would do that, I would like to do that, but it is also about getting the best possible result."
