James Maddison posts picture of incredible back garden
No matter who you are, you are likely to have experienced some level of boredom over the past 10 months of lockdowns, social distancing and isolation.
No doubt by now you are running low of languages to pretend to learn on Duolingo, have watched close to every series on Netflix and smashed your 5km walk personal best six or seven times.
What we all need is these uninspiring times is a garden like James Maddison's.
The Leicester midfielder recently posted a picture of his back yard on Instagram, and the reaction to it has been phenomenal.
The centrepiece of the garden is the set of two, fully sized football goals in the back corner. They are perfectly spaced for Maddison to practice his trademark, 25 yard, dipping free kick, although he did admit that training there came with risks.
When SPORTbible described his garden as a "dream" set up, the England international replied: "Til i spoon one do me kitchen window in ?." To you and me, he's saying it's a dream until he fluffs up a shot and breaks his kitchen window.
However, practicing free kicks are not their only use. Imagine having access to a half-sized pitch during a summer BBQ. Huge, sliding tackles on your nan, leaving an elbow in on your younger cousin and humiliating your dad with a delicious nutmeg in front of the entire family – it is what dreams are made of.
This is not the only garden feature that has got tongues wagging either. In a design choice that has surprised no one, Maddison appears to have modelled one area on the set of Love Island. It is complete with a covered veranda, fire pit and more sharp edges than a decagon.
For most of us, this set up is a pipedream, which is probably a good thing. If one of the best free kick takers in the Premier League is worried about smashing windows, we dread to think what sort of damage we would do...
