Jesse Marsch removed himself from the USMNT head coaching search saying he'll likely never have interest in the job unless there's a big shift in the organization.

The U.S. Soccer Federation fired men's national team head coach Gregg Berhalter nine days after the team was bounced from Copa America 2024. USA's performance was largely disappointing and fans wanted change ahead of hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The organization reached out to former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, but he swiftly declined any interest. Marsch, recently appointed to the Canadian national team, has been linked with the job in the past. If any USMNT fans wanted Marsch, might want to start looking elsewhere.

Jesse Marsch isn't interested in the USMNT job

In a press conference ahead of Canada's third place match against Uruguay, Marsch was asked which sideline he would be on come Sept. 7 when the team plays USA in an international friendly.

"I'm not leaving this job, I have no interest in the U.S. job. And to be fair, unless there's a big shift in the organization, I don't think that I'll ever have interest in that job in the future." Damning words, Marsch isn't going anywhere it seems.

"I'm really happy here, I couldn't be happier actually in terms of what it's like to work with the leaders in this organization and what it's like to work with this team."

So, that's two managers off the table, at least. His words will likely endear Canadian fans even more to the former Leeds United manager.

Marsch was hired back on May 13 by Canada ahead of the country's first-ever Copa America appearance. While the team has only scored two goals in regulation this tournament, Marsch has the team in the third place match against Uruguay. And, if Canada is victorious, Marsch will have only lost to tournament favorites Argentina in the tournament.

There'll be an added edge to the upcoming friendly between USA and Canada after Marsch's harsh words.
