Josef Martinez becomes 10th highest goalscorer in MLS history
By Abel Folgar
Inter Miami CF's Josef Martínez pulled ahead of MLS legend Taylor Twellman in the top 10 MLS all-time scorers list with a penalty conversion in the 84th against the Revolution on Matchday 18.
It was Martínez's 102 goal in MLS since joining Atlanta United in 2017 after a three-year stint with Italian Serie A team Torino and some formative years with Swiss Super League club Young Boys after leaving his youth team, Caracas FC, in his native Venezuela.
Martínez increased his tally for the season to four goals with the penalty kick - four of the measly 16 goals Miami have scored in 2023.

The striker, who's been on a slow recovery from a torn ACL in the first match of the 2020 season, has a lot to prove in the remaining matches of the 2023 MLS season, expecially with Leo Messi joining the Heron's ranks and continued speculation that former Barca teammate, Luis Suárez, might join him soon.
But that is pure speculation now, since Suárez declared recently to Spanish newspaper, Marca, that he was "very happy" with his current club, Grêmio, in the Brazilian Série A. His contract ends next year.
Inter Miami is also on the look out for a new manager too after firing Phil Neville recently. The English manager oversaw an embarrassing start to the 2023 in Miami.
