Jude Bellingham netted his 14th goal of the season for Real Madrid in Sunday's 3-0 victory over Cadiz, breaking a record which was jointly held by Cristiano Ronaldo in the process.
The England midfielder has been on fire since joining Madrid during the summer and bagged his 14th goal in just 15 games as he drilled home the third in a routine victory over Cadiz at the weekend.
No player has ever scored more goals in their first 15 games for Madrid than Bellingham, who has bettered the tallies of Ronaldo, Alfredo di Stefano and Pruden Sanchez.
The trio all managed 13 goals in their first 15 competitive games for Madrid but Bellingham has now roared ahead in the history books.
Coincidentally, Bellingham managed 14 goals across the entirety of last season, striking the last in his 42nd and final appearance for Borussia Dortmund in May 2023.
Ronaldo's debut season with Madrid - the 2009/10 campaign - yielded 33 goals in 35 games across all competitions, setting Bellingham's ultimate challenge for his first year at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Bellingham had been a doubt to feature against Cadiz as a result of a shoulder dislocation which he suffered before the international break. The midfielder withdrew from the England squad as a result of the injury but was thrown straight back into Madrid's starting lineup on Sunday.
"The problem he had, he still has it," manager Carlo Ancelotti confessed after the game. "With protection, he is fine."
Madrid are in Champions League action against Napoli on Wednesday before continuing their La Liga campaign against Granada on Saturday.
