Jude Bellingham has revealed his intricate plans for the next stage of his playing career following his phenomenal start to life at Real Madrid.

The midfielder joined Los Blancos from Borussia Dortmund for an initial €103m during the summer transfer window and he has since taken Spain by storm.

Across 13 games for Real Madrid in all competitions this season, Bellingham has already scored 13 goals - including several late winners - and added three assists. Most recently, he grabbed a phenomenal brace to earn his side a 2-1 win away at Barcelona in El Clasico.

After being awarded France Football's Kopa Trophy on Monday night, Bellingham sat down with them and L'Equipe to discuss his plans for the short-to-medium term with Real Madrid and the England national team.

When asked what he hopes to have won and achieved five years from now, Bellingham replied: "I hope for five Champions Leagues, a Euro and, perhaps, a World Cup.

"I am always as optimistic as possible. I don't see the point in playing thinking we're going to lose. You have to enter every competition every year thinking you can win it. Otherwise, what's the point? It is therefore difficult to quantify exactly which titles, how many of this and how many of that. I just prefer to keep doing good things, playing the way I do.

"In five years, if my family is still healthy and happy, that's the most important thing."

Bellingham was then asked if he hopes to have won a Ballon d'Or by then too, following on from some of Real Madrid's greatest ever players.

"It would be a great honour. Luka [Modric], [Cristiano] Ronaldo, [Zinedine] Zidane, following in the footsteps of these players who won it would be incredible," he added.

Bellingham's form to begin the 2023/24 season has made him one of the frontrunners for next year's Ballon d'Or, with Real Madrid top of La Liga and among the favourites to win the Champions League.
