Jurgen Klopp eyeing 'good fun' quadruple charge again with Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted he enjoyed the thrill of their bid to win a quadruple in the 2021/22 season and is relishing such a challenge this term.

The Reds currently sit top of the Premier League and begin their FA Cup campaign with a trip to Arsenal in round three on Sunday. They are also through to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup and the last 16 of the Europa League.

This season bears resemblance to Liverpool's 2021/22 campaign in which they won the FA Cup and Carabao Cup - beating Chelsea on penalties in both finals - while they finished as runners-up in the Premier League and Champions League.

Ahead of Sunday's clash with Arsenal, Klopp said he enjoyed that season and is targeting further success this year.

"The season with three finals and a Premier League [title bid] was intense while we were in it, but it was good fun as well," he said.

"I would not change it for anything. It was great. The two finals against Chelsea were two of the best draws I saw in my life - unbelievably intense, technically at a super-high level - so it was a wonderful experience.

"Obviously a Champions League final is not on the horizon, but maybe there is a Europa League final, which is really difficult to reach because there are a couple of really good teams in it. But you can't really think like that.

"This summer will be longer for some as there is the Euros as well. It's always like that. We cannot go out of a competition just because we think we might have a problem next year."

After Sunday's visit to the Emirates Stadium, Liverpool welcome Fulham to Anfield in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final. Should their FA Cup third round tie require a replay, they will then have an 11-day break until travelling to Bournemouth back in Premier League action.
