Juventus 1-1 Atalanta: Player Ratings as Cristiano Ronaldo Misses Penalty for Old Lady

Juventus slipped to a 1-1 draw at home to Atalanta on Wednesday evening, maintaining their unbeaten run but failing to close the gap on league leaders Milan.

Andrea Pirlo's side were the livelier of the two sides and had plenty of chances to draw first blood within the opening 15 minutes, but couldn't find a way to put the ball in the opposition net. They continued to pile on the pressure with crisp passing plays and broke the deadlock in the 29th minute through Federico Chiesa - who pelted the ball into the top corner from 20 yards out.

They took the lead into half time but couldn't quite find the same levels of performance after the break, allowing Gian Piero Gasperini's side back into the game. Wojciech Szczesny kept Atalanta at bay with a string of fine saves, but they ultimately drew level after 57 minutes through Remo Freuler, who scored a fine, long range strike of his own.

Juve had the chance to regain the lead just four minutes later when Chiesa was fouled inside the box, but Cristiano Ronaldo's penalty was saved by Pierluigi Gollini, on a night where the two goalkeepers produced a catalogue of smart saves.

The Old Lady kept knocking as the game opened up towards the closing stages, with Alvaro Morata forcing another stop out of Gollini, before Szczesny was called into action down the other end and ensured the game finished 1-1.

The result means Juventus maintain their unbeaten record Serie A this season, but also means they've now drawn six of the 12 games they played and failed to capitalise on league leaders Milan dropping points later in the evening. 1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Wojciech Szczesny (GK) - 8/10 - A standout performance from the former Arsenal shot stopper, who has turned his career around completely in the Italian top flight and ensured Juve took a point from the clash with five saves.

Matthijs de Ligt (CB) - 7/10 - Comfortable performance from De Ligt who is slowly growing with every game. The Dutchman won seven duals and made five clearances in a dominant defensive display.

Leonardo Bonucci (CB) - 7/10 - The captain stepped up and set the tone for a solid defensive display, winning most aerial balls that came his way. Little he could do to stop Freuler's strike, with his midfielders letting him down.

Danilo (CB) - 7/10 - Solid 90 minutes from one of Juve's utility men. Danilo has looked solid in a position that isn't his favoured role and did well to contain Atalanta's attacks from the flank.

2. Wing Backs & Midfielders

Juan Cuadrado (RWB) - 7/10 - Cuadrado was again everywhere for Juventus and showed his qualities with a versatile performance.

Weston McKennie (CM) - 6/10 - Not quite as bright as previous games but by no means a poor performance, McKennie worked hard and created one or two chances, but couldn't grab the game as much as he'd have liked to.

Arthur (CM) - 5/10 - Another frustrating cameo which sums up his time in Turin thus far, Arthur's game was over after just 27 minutes when he was substituted due to an injury.

Rodrigo Bentancur (CM) - 5/10 - Unusually poor off of the ball against Atalanta and failed to deal with Freuler which resulted in the visitors' equaliser, but was comfortable in possession.

Federico Chiesa (LWB) - 7/10 - Chiesa enjoyed a fruitful game and was rewarded with his first Serie A goal for the Old Lady in fine fashion. Left the keeper with no chance and won the penalty that should've won his side the game.

3. Forwards

Alvaro Morata (ST) - 4/10 - One to forget for the Spaniard who must've left his shooting boots at home. Forced some decent saves out of Gollini, but will be very disappointed with not coming away with a goal or two.

Cristiano Ronaldo (ST) - 4/10 - Similar story for Ronaldo, whose penalty being saved was a summary of the attacking duo's evening. Continually wasteful in front of goal and went missing despite Juve having chances to win.

4. Substitutes

Adrian Rabiot - 5/10 - Played the majority of the game being the man to replace the injured Arthur, but didn't make the most of his chance. Positionally lacking and allowed Atalanta through more than once.
