Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy is closing in on signing Borussia Dortmund legend Marco Reus, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The two sides are reportedly still sorting final details, but the deal is now close to being completed. Romano added that his trademark "Here we go" is expected soon.

Reus, once landed, would add another attacking element and experience to a side that has Riqui Puig, Gabriel Pec and Joseph Paintsil. While he'd be the latest European star to join MLS, he's not the only one coming to Los Angeles. Rival team LAFC signed former AC Milan, Arsenal and Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.

Reus nearing LA Galaxy move

The former Dortmund player was first linked with a move to Major League Soccer back in May. LA Galaxy reached a deal with Charlotte FC to acquire his discovery rights so no issue there if the move comes to fruition.

Galaxy doesn't have a Designated Player slot open, so Reus would be earning around $1.7 million this year. The aforementioned players, Puig, Pec and Paintsil, occupy the three slots.

Galaxyare tied on points with LAFC and Real Salt Lake for the top spot in the Western Conference. Though, Galaxy has two more games played than LAFC, and one more than RSL. Adding Reus would give the Gs a new dimension as it pushes for not only the Supporters' Shield, but also its first MLS Cup since 2014.

Galaxy plays two more MLS matches before the All-Star break. After that, Leagues Cup begins. Depending on when the transfer is completed/announced, Reus could make his debut in Leagues Cup. Galaxy plays San Jose Earthquakes and Guadalajara in the group stage. The team is favored to make to the knockout stage, but adding Reus would surely propel them to cup favorite.
