The Hollywood giants have endured one of their worst seasons in history, and things are looking even more grim after placing Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez on the season-ending injury list.

Chicharito, who's been at the club since 2020, suffered a right ACL tear during his side's US Open Cup 3-2 loss vs. Real Salt Lake earlier this month. While Chicharito's form hasn't been the best this season, it's still a huge loss from a leadership and experience perspective for LA.

The Galaxy have won just three games this season out of a possible 17, and have accumulated a mere 14 points to land bottom of the Western Conference table. The loss of the former Manchester United player doesn't help at all as they've scored just 16 goals in 2023. Only Minnesota United and Colorado Rapids have scored less goals this season with 15 and 14 goals, respectively.

Up front, LA head coach Greg Vanney will look to lean on 23-year-old Dejan Joveljic, who's scored two goals this season, and recently signed 18-year-old Aaron Bibout. He joins after playing for the LA Galaxy II in MLS Next Pro, scoring eight goals in 2023 before being loaned to the first team to help out on the goal scoring front.

Preston Judd had chipped in with two goals in 2023 and he should get plenty of chances to impress.

The Galaxy goal-scoring opportunities could also come from the wider areas of the field as left-winger Tyler Boyd has scored twice this season and the veteran Douglas Costa, who last played for Brazilian club Gremio, is getting into rhythm with two assists in his last two games.

Even center-back Martin Caceres has two goals in 2023, becoming a focal point on set pieces with Riqui Puig sending crosses in.

LA will next face off against Colorado Rapids, who are one point behind them in the West in last place, on June 24th.
