LAFC vs Colorado Rapids: Preview, predictions and lineups
- LAFC are fresh off a 6-2 victory over San Jose Earthquakes
- Colorado Rapids have managed three consecutive league wins
- The previous meeting saw the Rapids win late on thanks a Djordje Mihailovic brace
An entertaining Western Conference clash is on the cards this weekend when LAFC play host to Colorado Rapids in Major League Soccer action at BMO Stadium.
LAFC will look to continue their winning ways after their 6-2 thrashing of San Jose Earthquakes last weekend with Mateusz Bogusz, Denis Bouanga and Kei Kamara all getting on the scoresheet for the Black and Gold. The 2022 MLS Cup champions are seated at the top of the Western Conference table with 37 points from 19 games played.
Like LAFC, the Rapids will also look to build off their recent success as they've recorded three consecutive MLS wins, sitting in fourth place in the West with 31 points under new head coach Chris Armas. It was a difficult start for Colorado this term, but they seem to have turned things around and look destined to make a return to the postseason after the terrible season they endured in 2023.

LAFC vs Colorado Rapids score prediction
LAFC will be the slight favorites heading into this one given their place in the Western Conference table, but don't count out the Rapids just yet.
On paper, both teams have plenty of quality in the final third -- and Bouanga could be the difference maker with his electric pace and Colorado missing their most important defender in Bombito. However, both teams will find the back of the net twice as the points will be shared in southern California Saturday night.
Prediction: LAFC 2-2 Colorado Rapids
