Lazio 1-1 Inter: Player Ratings as Bad Tempered Serie A Encounter Ends All Square
Lazio and Inter played out a fiery 1-1 draw on Sunday with both teams being reduced to 10 men.
The visitors drew blood first through Lautaro Martinez who finished clinically after the ball broke nicely for him inside the box.
After the break, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic nodded in an equaliser which sparked a period of Lazio dominance. This was put to an end when Ciro Immobile was sent off for kicking out at Arturo Vidal with around 20 minutes left to play.
The chaos continued in the 85th minute when Stefano Sensi was dismissed for a coming together with Patric.
Here are 90min's player ratings from a bad-tempered affair in Rome...
Inter
1. Goalkeeper & Defenders
Samir Handanovic (GK) - 7/10 - Some good saves before the break. Nothing he could do about the goal.
Milan Skriniar (CB) - 6/10 - Not great. Lazio's cutting counter attacks caused him a lot of problems.
Stefan de Vrij (CB) - 6/10 - A rare unconvincing performance with big gaps in the defence often being exploited.
Alessandro Bastoni (CB) - 7/10 - Made a vital block to deny Luis Alberto on the hour mark.
2. Wing Backs & Midfielders
Achraf Hakimi (RWB) - 6/10 - Somewhat underwhelming performance from a player with such ability. Did not ask too many questions of the Lazio defence.
Arturo Vidal (CM) - 7/10 - Slotted into his new surroundings well. Industrious display and got Lazio's star man sent off.
Nicolo Barella (CM) - 6/10 - Some neat exchanges in the middle but went missing at times.
Roberto Gagliardini (CM) - 5/10 - This least effective of Inter's midfielders. Rightly withdrawn just after an hour.
Ivan Perisic (LWB) - 6/10 - His dogged run lead to the game's opening goal, however he did lose Milinkovic-Savic at the back post, allowing him to equalise.
3. Forwards
Romelu Lukaku (ST) - 6/10 - Combined nicely with Martinez on occasion but occasionally anonymous.
Lautaro Martinez (ST) - 8/10 - Took his goal really well and looked sharp despite only just returning to full fitness.
4. Substitutes
Ashley Young - 6/10
Stefano Sensi - 3/10
Marco Brozovic - 6/10
Alexis Sanchez - N/A
Danilo D'Ambrosio - N/A
5. Goalkeeper & Defenders
Thomas Strakosha (GK) - 5/10 - Could have and probably should have kept out Martinez's strike.
Patric (CB) - 8/10 - Looked comfortable throughout. Unlucky not to keep a clean sheet and also got Sensi sent off. Pure shithousery.
Francesco Acerbi (CB) - 8/10 - Beautiful, hanging cross for the equaliser. Also distributed the ball brilliantly.
Stefan Radu (CB) - 6/10 - Lasted 16 minutes before being withdrawn due to injury.
6. Wing Backs & Midfielders
Manuel Lazzari (RWB) - 8/10 - All of Lazio's attacks came courtesy of his driving runs. Was still driving forward at the death.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (CM) - 8/10 - Any kids watching at home, his equaliser was the textbook header. Take note.
Lucas Leiva (CM) - 7/10 - Kept things ticking over and guarded against the Inter counter diligently.
Luis Alberto (CM) - 5/10 - Had a hat full of chances but could convert a single one. Disappointing.
Adam Marusic (LWB) - 6/10 - Also substituted in the first half after picking up a knock. Looked good before then.
7. Forwards
Joaquin Correa (ST) - 6/10 - Involved in some good moves and pressed well. Occasionally felt like he was a bit of a passenger.
Ciro Immobile (ST) - 4/10 - Surprisingly quiet early on but livened up after the break. His sending off was beyond stupid. Kicking out like a petulant child is never a good look.
8. Substitutes
Mohammed Fares - 6/10
Bastos - 5/10
Marco Parolo - 6/10
Jean Akpa Akpro - N/A
Gonzalo Escalante - N/A
