Leeds predicted lineup vs Liverpool

Leeds vs. Liverpool is just one of those fixtures that gets you excited, even if you're a neutral.

It's probably that epic comeback inspired by Mark Viduka that does it for many of us; the Aussie turning Liverpool's world upside down with four goals to down them in a 4-3 thriller at Elland Road in 2000.

Thrilling football is also something you associate with Marcelo Bielsa's current crop of Leeds players, likewise for Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool. Both teams love to attack and pile forward, so it should be a thrilling Sunday afternoon game.

Here's how the home side may line up come kick off.

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Illan Meslier (GK) - Signed a new long-term contract recently and is more than good enough to become France's future number one.

Luke Ayling (CB) - Best suited to piling forward from right back/right wing-back, but Ayling will need to tuck inside again in the continued absence of Robin Koch.

Liam Cooper (CB) - The captain, heartbeat and mouthpiece of a strong and determined Leeds side.

Diego Llorente (CB) - Has taken a while for the Spaniard to become a regular fixture, which is surprising given his talent.

2. Wing-Backs & Midfielders

Raphinha (RWB) - Would he play, wouldn't he play? That was the big question heading into the weekend. Fortunately the proposed ban of Brazilian players planned by FIFA has been dropped.

Kalvin Phillips (CM) - Has plenty of minutes in his legs from England duty. Luckily, Phillips is used to running about 5,671 miles for Marcelo Bielsa.

Rodrigo (CM) - Signed as a striker but converted to play basically anywhere he is needed. Who knows where the Spaniard will end up next.

Stuart Dallas (LWB) - Another who ticks all the versatility box. The good news for Leeds is that Dallas is brilliant everywhere he plays. Hell, he may not even play at left wing-back as nobody really knows what Bielsa will do.

3. Forwards

Daniel James (RW) - Finally a Leeds player after a brief pit stop at Manchester United, this is James' time to shine as a Premier League regular.

Patrick Bamford (ST) - Earned his first international cap for England over the international break. Has 18 goals in 41 Premier League appearances for Leeds to his name, not a bad record at all.

Jack Harrison (LW) - Another jack of all trades, there's every chance Harrison won't end up playing on the left flank. But if he does, Trent Alexander-Arnold will have his work cut out for him.
