Leeds target undergoing medical ahead of club-record move

Leeds United target Georginio Rutter has arrived in England for a medical after the Whites agreed a club-record deal with Hoffenheim, sources have confirmed to 90min.

The West Yorkshire giants made their move for the 20-year-old last week and have been finalising the details of the deal over the past few days.

90min understands that those talks have resulted in a club-record deal worth around £30m being agreed, with Rutter set to undergo medical tests before the move is finalised.

Leeds have already dipped into the transfer market to sign Austrian international Max Wober from Red Bull Salzburg, reuniting the defender with his former manager Jesse Marsch.

90min understands that the club will continue to back Marsch in January, and are looking to bring in at least another two players - a full-back and midfielder being high on their list of priorities.

One of those targets is Moroccan World Cup star Azzedine Ounahi, with talks already held with Angers over a possible deal. The 22-year-old is, however, wanted by a number of clubs from around Europe, including Serie A leaders Napoli and Brendan Rodgers' Leicester.

Rutter's arrival at Elland Road will bring to an end Leeds' search for forward reinforcements, adding to the firepower already provided by Rodrigo, Wilfried Gnonto and Patrick Bamford - though he has been restricted to just 425 minutes of Premier League football after continued struggles with injury.

Leeds sit 14th in the Premier League table, two points above the relegation zone.
