Leeds United sit top of the Pledgeball League table after a March jam-packed with climate conscious action from fans up and down the football pyramid.

The Whites enjoyed a hugely successful Green Football Weekend full of carbon pledges from their fans which has seen the club, in total so far this season, pledging to save 852,868kg of carbon emissions.

Hot on trail in the race of the Pledgeball League title are Manchester United and Charlton Athletic. Manchester United fans won the GFW Cup in February by scoring 17,545 green goals - 7,000 more than any other team - and pledging to save 10,169kg carbon emissions. The key contributors to those numbers were St Catherine’s pupils Fatoumatta and Melina, who scored 3,363 green goals on their own.

Charlton, on the other hand, have shot up the table in March thanks to their 'Greener Games' against Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham City Women. With help from their sponsor RSK, their local council and university, the club were able to organise fan initiatives such a litter picks and walking groups to travel to games at the Valley.

At a club level, Charlton also worked with the club's waste management partner Countryside Recycling to deliver recycling workshops.

Liverpool Women's also took part in their second ever Pledgeball League game in March, making their clash with Everton one during Women's Football Weekend.

The proved to be an enormous success from a climate perspective, Liverpool Women and Everton Women fans now having pledged to save 309,244kg of carbon emissions, which is the equivalent of over 3,500 drives from Liverpool to London.
