Leicester City predicted lineup vs Arsenal - Premier League
An in-form Leicester City host a similarly in-form Arsenal side in the Premier League for Saturday's early kick-off.
Brendan Rodgers didn't dare alter the starting XI that blitzed past Manchester United for a second consecutive Premier League victory over Brentford last weekend and, injury permitting, is unlikely to deviate from the rediscovered 3-4-1-2 that has served his side so well in the past, and present.
Leicester City predicted lineup vs Arsenal - Premier League
1. Goalkeeper & defenders
Kasper Schmeichel (GK) - Only Leeds' Illan Meslier has made more saves than Leicester's number one this season - though that is perhaps a more damning indictment of the defence than anything.
Daniel Amartey (CB) - A forgotten member of the title winning side, Amartey has chiseled out a slot in the altered system while Wesley Fofana is nursed back to fitness.
Jonny Evans (CB) - After an injury-riddled opening to the campaign, Evans earned his first league starts of the season in Leicester's last two games, which accounted for half the club's Premier League wins this term.
Caglar Soyuncu (CB) - Stood by throughout a tumultuous individual first few months of the season, Soyuncu appears to have heeded his manager's advice to 'go back to basics'.
2. Midfielders & wing-backs
Ricardo Pereira (RWB) - Despite the effects of a ten-month injury layoff, Leicester's most prolific Premier League assister of the season may be risked for a third straight league start for the first time since March.
Boubakary Soumare (CM) - Burdened with the considerable task of replacing the injured Wilfred Ndidi, Soumare has played to his playmaking strengths rather than take on any doomed attempts to replicate his teammate's prolific defensive output.
Youri Tielemans (CM) - Having scored the most goals from outside the box among his Premier League peers this calendar year (four), Tielemans will be all but guaranteed a chance to add to his tally this weekend.
James Maddison (AM) - Buoyed by his first goal (in any competition) since February last weekend, Rodgers is set to call upon Maddison with his 'swagger' restored.
Timothy Castagne (LWB) - Amid Leicester's seemingly endless stream of absentees, the versatility offered by the former Atalanta wingback accustomed to his advanced role has been invaluable.
3. Forwards
Kelechi Iheanacho (ST) - The chief beneficiary of Leicester's return to a two-man frontline, when Iheanacho has started in Europe or the Premier League this term, Leicester have averaged a staggering 2.8 goals per game, compared to just 1.9 when he starts on the bench.
Jamie Vardy (ST) - The looming spectre at the heart of every Arsenal defender's nightmares, if (and when) Vardy finds the net on the weekend, he would go level with Wayne Rooney for the most Premier League goals scored against the Gunners (12).
