Wesley Fofana suffers suspected broken leg against Villarreal

Wesley Fofana has suffered a suspected broken leg during Leicester's pre-season friendly with Villarreal on Wednesday evening.
The France Under-21 international has suffered numerous knocks throughout his short career, though the injury picked up against the La Liga outfit looks as though it could be the most serious one yet.
Spanish forward Fer Nino lunged into a challenge with Fofana as he attempted to win back possession of the ball, though his follow through caused him to land on the Leicester man's leg as he seemed to buckle under the weight.
The medical team were immediately called onto the field of play with Fofana in evident distress, and having left the field on a stretcher it looks as though he may have even broken his leg.
As of yet that is of course purely speculation and Leicester themselves will have to wait to find out the extent of the injury, but for now it's not looking good for the talented young defender.
The incident is the last thing Brendan Rodgers needs right now with the Foxes due to kick off their Premier League campaign in little more than a week's time.
Leicester already have a number of defensive injuries to contend with including Timothy Castagne and James Justin, and the early signs suggest Fofana could be the next player to be added to their growing injury list.
We'll likely discover more about Fofana's injury over the coming days as Leicester look to gauge how long he will be out for, though it seems almost definite that he'll now miss the start of Leicester's 2021/22 season.
Rodgers' side face Manchester City on August 7 in the Community Shield at Wembley Stadium, while their first league outing of the season comes just a week later as they host Wolves at the King Power Stadium on August 14.
