Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane has insisted he is not thinking about his future despite the German side's attempts to discuss a new contract with him.
The 27-year-old is approaching the final 18 months of his contract and reports in Germany have suggested both Liverpool and former employers Manchester City, with whom Sane spent four years before his move to Bayern, are interested in a transfer.
While away on international duty, Sane acknowledged Bayern's desire to discuss fresh terms but insisted he wants to keep his focus on the current season.
"I haven’t given it [my future] any thought yet," Sane said when asked about the uncertainty surrounding him.
"The club wants to have talks, but at the moment I want to focus on this season. FC Bayern remains my first point of contact, there’s no doubt about that."
Sane confirmed earlier this year that his wife had temporarily moved back to their old flat in Manchester while his Munich home was undergoing renovations but stressed that the family would all return to living in Germany again soon.
The winger enjoyed a successful spell with City, winning two Premier League titles between 2016 and 2020 before leaving for Munich.
Sane managed 39 goals and 46 assists in 135 appearances for City before his time in England came to an unfortunate end, with the Germany international suffering a nasty knee injury that limited him to just 24 minutes of action across his final season with Pep Guardiola's side.
Having maintained a similar return for his first three seasons in Germany, Sane is currently enjoying the best campaign of his career to date. He has eight goals in just 11 games this year, matching his best-ever Bundesliga tally, and has also chimed in with six assists.
