Liverpool fixtures: Next six games after Man City loss
Jurgen Klopp's enthusiasm ahead of a seismic few weeks for the club may well have taken a hefty dent after Liverpool's second-half implosion against Manchester City on Saturday lunchtime.
Liverpool's manager insisted that he is "super excited" for a period which he likened to "a Champions League week". There is not much time for the Merseyside outfit to lick their wounds after a 4-1 humbling but Liverpool's race to actually return to Europe's premier club competition is far from over.
Here's what lies ahead for the Reds and their a little less optimistic manager.
Chelsea vs Liverpool - Premier League
When Liverpool hosted Chelsea in January, the back page of the matchday programme carried the words: "Squads correct at time of print" beneath the list of visiting players. Regrettably, that subtle jab in the jowls of Todd Boehly and Chelsea's hectic transfer window offered more spice than the 90 minutes of a tepid goalless draw.
Those programmes are now out of date as Chelsea broke the British transfer record with the acquisition of Enzo Fernandez the following week. However, it may be another tense and tight affair at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night.

Liverpool vs Arsenal - Premier League
The first time Klopp ever came up against Arsenal, during his time in charge of Borussia Dortmund, Mikel Arteta was at the base of the Gunners' midfield (incidentally, Yossi Benayoun was scampering around alongside the club's current manager).
Klopp has not beaten any other English club more often than he has gotten the better of Arsenal, recording 12 victories over the years against the Gunners. However, Klopp's Reds were undone by the north London outfit at the Emirates in October and trail the league leaders by more than 20 points.

Leeds vs Liverpool - Premier League
Don Revie famously changed Leeds United's kit to mimic Real Madrid and the two sides clad in white are the only clubs to have beaten Liverpool at Anfield this season. However, Jesse Marsch was still in charge of the Yorkshire side when Crysencio Summerville snatched an 89th-minute winner in October.
Javi Gracia, Marsch's replacement, has endured a dire record against the Reds; losing all three of his managerial meetings by an aggregate score of 0-13.

Liverpool vs Nottingham Forest - Premier League
Liverpool's crippling inconsistency has raised its ugly head most damagingly against the newly promoted sides this season. Capable of rattling nine unanswered goals past Bournemouth in August, Liverpool lost 1-0 to the Cherries on the south coast in March.
Forest were able to achieve the same improbable scoreline when Steve Cooper's side hosted Liverpool in August. Cooper spent five years holding various positions in Liverpool's academy at the end of the previous decade but has proven he can shelve his fondness for Merseyside for 90 minutes.

West Ham vs Liverpool - Premier League
When Liverpool last travelled to the London Stadium in November 2021, West Ham shocked their visitors with a 3-2 victory which lifted David Moyes' side into third place, narrowly above the Reds.
While Liverpool's top four aspirations may still be intact by the time they return to east London, West Ham are desperately scrapping against the drop. Moyes has struggled to mould his array of promising attacking talents into a cohesive unit. If the former Everton manager is still at the helm when Liverpool come to the capital, he surely won't be next season.

Liverpool vs Tottenham - Premier League
Both Liverpool and Tottenham, once vaunted as two examples of how to pierce the Premier League elite through cunning rather than cash, are in the midst of upstairs upheaval.
Liverpool's replacement for the revered sporting director Michael Edwards, Julian Ward, announced his tenure would only last one season a matter of months after earning the promotion. Spurs are also on the lookout for a new strategic overseer after FIFA banned Fabio Paratici from worldwide football at the end of March.
Unsurprisingly, this off-pitch turmoil has bled onto the field - although, both are still vying for a spot in the top four, aiming for riches for an empty seat to spend.
