Liverpool predicted lineup vs Brentford - Premier League
- Liverpool play host to Brentford in the Premier League this Sunday
- The Reds are looking to keep pace with other sides at the top of the league table
- Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch are doubts for Jurgen Klopp
Liverpool are looking to put last weekend's disappointing draw to Luton Town behind them when they welcome Brentford to Anfield this Sunday.
The Reds required a stoppage-time Luis Diaz equaliser to spare their blushes at Kenilworth Road, a game that brought their four-game winning run to an end. Liverpool still sit third in the Premier League table despite dropping points last Sunday and could technically finish the weekend in top spot, although they would need some significant favours elsewhere.
Jurgen Klopp may be glad that the November international break is on the horizon, giving several members of his squad time to recuperate. The likes of Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch are doubts, while Alexis Mac Allister, Curtis Jones, Thiago, Stefan Bajcetic and Andy Roberston will all miss the Brentford clash.
Here is how Klopp could line Liverpool up against Brentford on Sunday.
Liverpool predicted lineup vs Brentford (4-3-3)
GK: Alisson - With Caoimhin Kelleher starting against Toulouse in midweek, Alisson was given another well-earned rest. The Brazilian remains one of the best goalkeepers on the planet and will hope he's not too busy against Brentford.
RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold - One of Liverpool's most creative outlets against Luton and will be expected to step into midfield from right-back against the Bees.
CB: Ibrahima Konate - The Frenchman was also rested against Toulouse and will return to the starting lineup on Sunday. Konate's pace will be useful up against Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo.
CB: Virgil van Dijk - A slight doubt for the Brentford game having missed the trip to France due to illness. However, if he's remotely fit, he'll start.
LB: Kostas Tsimikas - Andy Robertson's long-term injury means Tsimikas is likely to play a lot of football in the coming months. The Greek defender was rested for Joe Gomez last Sunday against Luton, but should take his place back in the lineup against the Bees.
CM: Dominik Szoboszlai - With Liverpool slightly short of midfield options, the Hungarian's creativity and influence will be even more important.
CM: Wataru Endo - With Mac Allister suspended and struggling as Liverpool's number six, the Japan captain is likely to feature in the deep holding role. Endo has been increasingly impressive in a red shirt and should earn his second Premier League start.
CM: Harvey Elliott - The youngster has been more useful from the bench in recent weeks, but will have to start against Brentford due to a lack of options. Elliott has impressed in spells this season and will want to take his opportunity this Sunday.
RW: Mohamed Salah - Scored the winner against Brentford at Anfield last season and will likely be among the goals again at the weekend. Salah has scored three goals in as many Premier League games since returning from the October international break.
ST: Darwin Nunez - Rested against Toulouse from the start and should continue his impressive form against Brentford. Missed a sitter against Luton but scored a stunner in the previous game against Bournemouth. The Uruguayan is predictably unpredictable.
LW: Diogo Jota - With Luis Diaz starting against Toulouse, Jota may return to the lineup against Luton. The Portuguese hasn't been in blistering form this season but somehow still seems to be finding the net on a regular basis.
