Liverpool predicted lineup vs Burnley - Premier League
- The Reds rocked by injury to Kostas Tsimikas in draw with Arsenal at Anfield
- Luis Diaz also an injury concern as Liverpool bid to go top of the table
- Mohamed Salah to lead Liverpool front line that has been hit and miss this season
Liverpool will hope to end Boxing Day top of the Premier League table by picking up three points at relegation-threatened Burnley.
The Reds grabbed a share of the spoils against Arsenal in their final game before Christmas, but will barely have had time to digest their dinner before they look to dampen the spirit of Vincent Kompany's Burnley.
Jurgen Klopp has a couple of new injury problems to overcome, with Kostas Tsimikas out with a broken collarbone and Luis Diaz doubtful with a knee problem, and he may rotate in a couple of other areas with the fixture list busier than ever for Liverpool.
Here's how the German may set up his side.
Liverpool predicted lineup vs Burnley (4-3-3)
GK: Alisson Becker - The best goalkeeper going in the Premier League will be confident of keeping a clean sheet against the team with the worst home record in the division.
RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold - Played another superb over the top pass for Salah's equaliser against Arsenal. Exquisite.
CB: Jarell Quansah - With the games coming thick and fast, Klopp may use the trip to Lancashire to get more Premier League starting experience under the belt of Quansah.
CB: Virgil van Dijk - The captain is the first name on Liverpool's team sheet when fit.
LB: Joe Gomez - Slotted in on the left to cover Tsimikas' injury against Arsenal and will need to do so again from the start here.
DM: Wataru Endo - After an inauspicious start, Endo has got up to the pace of the Premier League nicely. Could play a key role in helping Liverpool dominate possession.
CM: Dominik Szoboszlai - Has blown a little hot and cold this season, occasionally jumping from the sublime to the ridiculous. Undoubtedly a huge talent.
CM: Ryan Gravenberch - A couple of recent starts for Curtis Jones could lead to rotation and a recall from the off for Gravenberch.
RW: Mohamed Salah - Took his goal tally for the season to 12 with a rocket that Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya got nowhere near.
CF: Cody Gakpo - Failed to impose himself against Arsenal and may find his place under threat if Luis Diaz is passed fit to start.
LW: Darwin Nunez - Doubts over the Colombian's availability means Nunez could be shifted to the left wing - expect him to play centrally if Diaz is available because of his disruptive ability.
