Liverpool predicted lineup vs Toulouse - Europa League
- Liverpool host French Cup winners Toulouse in the Europa League on Thursday night
- The Reds have won their opening two group games and top Group E
- Jurgen Klopp set to make wholsale changes to starting XI
A stubborn Everton defence left them frustrated, but Liverpool eventually got the job done in the Merseyside derby at the weekend.
The Reds' start to the season hasn't been perfect, but they've shown enough to suggest they're capable of at least competing with Manchester City for the Premier League title. They're also among the favourites to go all the way in the Europa League.
The competition has so far been a procession for Jurgen Klopp's side since the first half in Linz. After conceding first to LASK on Matchday 1, Liverpool have scored five without reply to top Group E with six points from six.
Their next assignment is Ligue 1 outfit Toulouse on Thursday night as Anfield plays host to their Matchday 3 fixture.
Here's how the Reds could line up for their upcoming clash.
Liverpool predicted lineup vs Toulouse (4-3-3)
GK: Caoimhín Kelleher - The Irishman returned to the squad at the weekend, suggesting he'll be fit to make an appearance on Thursday.
RB: Joe Gomez - Klopp will likely give Trent Alexander-Arnold a breather and allow Gomez to fill in at right-back, which he did during his teammate's absence earlier this season.
CB: Joel Matip - Both Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk have earned Europa League starts, but neither are expected to feature on Thursday.
CB: Jarell Quansah - The young defender has impressed during every first-team opportunity handed to him thus far. He should get another chance to shine against Toulouse.
LB: Kostas Tsimikas - The Greek international is going to get a lot of minutes over the next couple of months while Andy Robertson recovers from shoulder surgery.
DM: Wataru Endo - The lion's share of Endo's minutes have come in this competition at the start of his Liverpool career. The Japanese midfielder should get the nod on Thursday.
CM: Curtis Jones - It makes sense for Klopp to start Jones in midweek given that he serves the last game of his Premier League suspension at the weekend. The midfielder's influence had been growing before he was dismissed against Tottenham Hotspur.
CM: Harvey Elliott - The 20-year-old has been excellent during Liverpool's opening two group fixtures, but starts are hard to come by in the Premier League.
RW: Darwin Nunez - Klopp will shuffle his frontline around, and we could see Cody Gakpo make an appearance off the bench. Mohamed Salah started on Matchday 2, but he'll likely get a rest on Thursday.
ST: Diogo Jota - One of just two starters from the derby projected to retain their place in the team. Jota will rotate regularly with Nunez and take up positions on both flanks.
LW: Luis Diaz - Ben Doak is an option off the bench for Kiopp, but the boss will likely go strong up top to start in a bid to get the contest over with early.
