Liverpool have released their first away kit to be manufactured by Nike, which will see them continue the trend of introducing a brand new colourway each season.

The Reds' big-money deal with Nike, worth close to the £30m-a-year mark, kicked in this summer and has already brought us the new home shirt.

Now, we've got the new second strip for the 2020/21 season, with Liverpool revealing on their official website that the team will be sporting an all-new teal and black colourway as they look to defend their Premier League crown.

The city's culture is a core part of the new kit. The swirling pattern on the shirt is a tribute to Anfield's Shankly Gates, while the textured print pays tribute to Liverpool's musical history and the numerous event posters which line the walls of every street.

The Nike logo and liver bird crest both stand out in a bold black alongside the shirt's collar and sleeve cuffs to help the teal stand out even more.

"I’m a massive fan of the new away kit,” club captain Jordan Henderson said. “I really love the design and how it has been influenced by the city and specific aspects of the club. I can’t wait to get back out there and play in it next season.”

The kit is yet to be released to the general public but can be pre-ordered now before its wider release on August 17.

Nike's vice-president of football apparel, Scott Munson, added: “We have very distinct design filters that are fully demonstrated in the collection we’ve created for Liverpool FC. First and foremost, we set out to create a collection that celebrates the rich culture of the city of Liverpool and the club.

"The away kit allowed us to be bolder and more expressive in how we brought some of these cultural references to life and we’ve landed on a look and aesthetic that really reflects that.”
