It's advantage Sunderland at the halfway point as Luton attempt to overturn a 2-1 deficit on home soil to reach the Championship play-off final.

The tie started superbly for Rob Edwards' side as Elijah Adebayo bundled home an 11th-minute opener before Sunderland, inspired by majestic loanee Amad Diallo, turned things around by scoring on either side of half-time.

The Black Cats' turnaround means they're one step closer to a potential Premier League return, while Luton will be looking to overcome their play-off hoodoo on Tuesday night.

Luton team news

Alfie Doughty appeared to suffer from cramp in the closing stages of the first leg, and his fitness will be monitored ahead of Tuesday's clash. Reece Burke and Daniel Potts are potential replacements if Doughty isn't fit enough to start, but the midfielder should be okay.

Luton's injury list is far from extensive, but Cauley Woodrow's knee injury should see him miss the second leg.

Luton vs Sunderland score prediction

Luton's woeful play-off record has to be taken into account, and Sunderland's current form would suggest they're ready to upset the odds on Tuesday night.

The Black Cats are purring, and their turnaround at the Stadium of Light was obviously huge for their chances of progression.

Luton's home record hasn't exactly been imperious this season, and although Kenilworth Road will be rocking for this mammoth encounter, Sunderland boast all the momentum and they should do enough to see themselves into the final at Wembley.

Score prediction: Luton 1-1 Sunderland (Sunderland win 3-2 on aggregate)
