Man City predicted lineup vs Burnley - Premier League
- Man City are on a roll heading into Wednesday's game
- City haven't lost since winning the 2023 Club World Cup before Christmas
- Erling Haaland set to feature in midweek after struggling with foot injury
It's full steam ahead for Manchester City after they notched their first win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Friday night.
Nathan Ake's late goal, their first in N17 since Spurs moved into their new home, was enough to see City progress into the fifth round of the FA Cup.
Their triumph was just the latest in a string of victories that have followed since they jetted off to Saudi Arabia for the Club World Cup before Christmas.
Now, Pep Guardiola is set to reunite Erling Haaland with Kevin De Bruyne.
Haaland was left out of Friday night's cup win, but the striker is expected to feature on Wednesday night. Here's how City could line up against the Clarets.
Man City predicted lineup vs Burnley (3-4-2-1)
GK: Ederson - There was a clean sheet for Stefan Ortega last time out, but Ederson is expected to return to the XI for Wednesday's Premier League fixture.
CB: Kyle Walker - A constant in the City XI so far this season, Walker should continue in the team in midweek and aim to tame Wilson Odobert's threat.
CB: Ruben Dias - John Stones should earn minutes off the bench while Manuel Akanji is a doubt. Dias is poised for another start in the middle of the back three.
CB: Nathan Ake - The Dutchman etched himself into Cityzen folklore by bundling home the club's first-ever goal at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Ake is built for this multi-functional defensive role.
CM: Rodri - The Spanish lynchpin is a shoo-in on Wednesday. He'll hope to partner Stones in the pivot again soon.
CM: Mateo Kovacic - Instead, Rodri will have to settle with Kovacic, who's undoubtedly fared better in his debut campaign than fellow summer arrival Matheus Nunes. Kovacic also started on Friday night.
RM: Bernardo Silva - The versatile genius can play a myriad of roles within Guardiola's framework, with the return of a certain Belgian rendering it more likely for Bernardo to start wide on the right.
AM: Kevin De Bruyne - De Bruyne is poised for his first Premier League start since August. The masterful creator had a role in Ake's winner in N17.
AM: Phil Foden - The stellar Englishman may well have garnered undroppable status. He was excellent in De Bruyne's absence and the Belgian's return shouldn't facilitate a downturn in minutes.
LM: Jack Grealish - It feels like a while since we saw Grealish in action. He was unused on Friday night but could come into the starting lineup against the Clarets.
ST: Julian Alvarez - Haaland is edging closer to his return and minutes off the bench are possible in midweek. However, with Haaland unlikely to start, Alvarez will retain his place as City's #9.
