Manchester City have got something to work with now that they are back on top of the Premier League table, albeit having played a game more than nearest challengers Arsenal.

Pep Guardiola's charges ran out convincing 3-1 winners at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night, and a win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday would make it three Premier League wins in a row.

The Cityzens have a Champions League date with RB Leipzig next Wednesday, which could mean to slight rotation from Guardiola as he bids to keep his players as fresh as possible.

Here's the XI he may call upon to down Steve Cooper's Forest at the City Ground.

GK: Ederson - The Brazilian was involved in some penalty drama during the game against Arsenal but Ederson is a superb goalkeeper and he has proved himself time and time again.

RCB: Rico Lewis - Did not start the game against Arsenal but Guardiola may rest Kyle Walker for the Champions League clash against RB Leipzig.

CB: Ruben Dias - The Portuguese defender has had an odd time in recent months as Guardiola has rotated his defenders regularly, but he needs the minutes to get back up to speed.

LCB: Aymeric Laporte - Another player coming into the rotated defence, Laporte is a very handy player to be able to call upon.

CDM: Rodri - Arguably the most consistent player in the Mancjester City squad this season, Guardiola will use Rodri in every single game if nothing stands in his way.

CDM: Bernardo Silva - Plugging the gap at left-back could again be Bernardo Silva, though he'll slot inside and provide added midfield cover when in possession.

CM: Kevin De Bruyne - Took his goal against Arsenal superbly and pulled the strings all night long. Hard to fathom why he'd ever be a bench option when fit.

CM: Ilkay Gundogan - Has played in a couple of different roles for City this season, either holding the fort in front of the defence or making lung-bursting runs into the box. It could be the latter role for Gundogan here.

RW: Riyad Mahrez - Came off on the hour mark against Arsenal, and that added rest could hand in-form Mahrez another start.

LW: Jack Grealish - Looks to be finding form at just the right time for Manchester City - form that has marginalised Phil Foden's role in recent weeks.

ST: Erling Haaland - Premier League goal number 26 was chalked up against Arsenal in midweek, while Haaland also demonstrated his ability to set them up in the recent win over Aston Villa.
