Man City vs Newcastle - Premier League: TV channel, team news, lineups & prediction
- Man City host Newcastle at the Etihad on Saturday 19 August
- City come into the game on the back of their UEFA Super Cup victory over Sevilla
- Both sides won emphatically on the opening weekend of the Premier League season
Fresh from UEFA Super Cup glory against Sevilla on Wednesday evening, Manchester City will be keen to keep the good times rolling as they face a tricky home clash with Newcastle United.
The Sky Blues beat Sevilla on penalties following a sticky and humid 1-1 draw in Greece, lifting their first trophy of the new campaign. Several days prior they had comfortably seen off Vincent Kompany's Burnley, beating the newly-promoted side 3-0 in the opening match of the Premier League season.
Newcastle also got their season off to a terrific start with a rampant 5-1 victory over Aston Villa at St James' Park. A brace from Alexander Isak was supported by goals from Callum Wilson and new signings Sandro Tonali and Harvey Barnes as the Magpies dismantled Unai Emery's side.
Such was Newcastle's brilliance against Villa, some are labelling this an early title clash. While somewhat optimistic, it does promise to be a mouth-watering affair.

Man City team news
This week Man City learned the extent of the injury suffered by Kevin De Bruyne during their clash with Burnley, and it isn't good news. The Belgian playmaker could be out for up to four months with a hamstring issue, a devastating blow for Pep Guardiola.
New signing Mateo Kovacic is expected to start in his place, as he did in both the Community Shield and UEFA Super Cup, while Bernardo Silva could be an option should he return from illness.
John Stones and Ruben Dias both missed the Burnley clash but were back on the bench against Sevilla, albeit neither were used from the bench, and both could feature against Newcastle.
There is also a decent chance that Guardiola rotates his squad from midweek, with some players perhaps being moved to the bench.
Man City predicted lineup vs Newcastle
Man City predicted lineup (4-2-3-1): Ederson; Lewis, Dias, Stones, Ake; Rodri, Kovacic, Silva, Alvarez, Foden; Haaland.
Newcastle team news
Newcastle are likely to be missing Javier Manquillo, Emil Krafth and Joe Willock for a second successive week, with the latter still being around a month away from returning to action. However, the good news is that Eddie Howe has no new players missing.
The Newcastle boss will likely start the same side that battered Villa only a week ago, however new signings Harvey Barnes and Tino Livramento could make their first starts for the club.
Newcastle predicted lineup vs Man City
Newcastle predicted lineup (4-3-3): Pope; Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn; Tonali, Guimaraes, Joelinton; Almiron, Isak, Gordon.
Man City vs Newcastle score prediction
Man City are favourites for any home game they play, but this may prove an incredibly difficult challenge, especially given their efforts midweek in the Super Cup.
Newcastle were terrific in their victory against Villa, playing with the energy and ruthlessness that a side needs to face City. Tonali made an enormous impact on his first start, while the Magpies are starting to build strength in depth with the likes of Wilson and Barnes scoring off the bench.
However, City are still City, and Erling Haaland is still Erling Haaland. No matter the level of fatigue, they are still capable of sweeping anybody away. It should be a thoroughly entertaining and ultimately tight affair.
Prediction: Man City 1-1 Newcastle
