Man Utd confirm Mason Mount injury and return date
- Mount sustained an injury in the defeat to Tottenham
- The midfielder signed from Chelsea during the summer window
- He is set to miss the next two Premier League games
Manchester United have confirmed Mason Mount will be out of action until after the international break due to injury.
The midfielder join Man Utd during the summer transfer window for £55m from Premier League rivals Chelsea, putting pen to paper on a four-year deal, with the option for a further year.
Mount has started both of the Red Devils' two Premier League games of the 2023/24 season, with Mount and co. narrowly beating Wolves at Old Trafford before being thoroughly beaten by Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday in north London.
During the latter game, the midfielder came off in the 85th minute and Man Utd have now confirmed that that substitution was due to an injury: "Mason Mount is set to miss Saturday’s game against Nottingham Forest due to an injury picked up in last weekend’s encounter with Tottenham Hotspur.

"The small complaint is expected to keep Mount out until the international break next month.
"The England midfielder has started both of our Premier League games so far this season after making his competitive debut for the club in last week’s 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford."
The injury is set to keep Mount of Man Utd's clash with Nottingham Forest and then, perhaps more crucially, the trip to Emirates Stadium to face off against Arsenal.
The Red Devils have been linked with a number of midfielders in recent weeks, with 90min reporting that Man Utd have now agreed personal terms with Sofyan Amrabat, and even provisionally settled on a fee in the region of £29m with his current club Fiorentina in order to sign him. The transfer has been conditional based upon the club's ability to sell either Donny van de Beek or Scott McTominay.
