Marcus Rashford is set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up a groin injury in Manchester United's 2-0 victory over Everton at the weekend.

Rashford's renaissance has been one of the stories of the 2022/23 campaign thus far. The England international sauntered through a forgettable 2021/22 season with just six Premier League goal contributions, but the appointment of Erik ten Hag has seen the 25-year-old return to past glories.

His menacing touch has been rediscovered, and there was a point after the World Cup break when he had to be regarded as the most destructive performer in the division. Rashford's resurgence has played a major role in United's success thus far, but Ten Hag will have to make do without his leading goalscorer for the next few weeks.

United have confirmed Rashford will endure a spell on the sidelines as a result of the groin injury he sustained against the Toffees, and here are the games he's expected to miss.

Rashford's injury meant very few expected him to be fit for Thursday's game, which sees United host Sevilla in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie.

The 25-year-old had enjoyed a productive continental campaign before his injury and played a crucial role in the club's progression into the last eight. Rashford scored and assisted in the first leg of the knockout playoff round against Barcelona before netting in both legs against Real Betis.

Nottingham Forest vs Manchester United - Premier League

11 of Rashford's 15 Premier League goals this season arrived after the World Cup break. But, he had just scored one in five before he was forced off late on against Everton.

Nevertheless, Ten Hag will have to replace Rashford's goals somehow and he could turn to Anthony Martial. The Frenchman has missed plenty of time this season through injuries of his own this term, but he's recently returned to the fold and was set-up by Rashford for United's second at the weekend.

United won 3-0 at the City Ground in the Carabao Cup earlier this year, but this is expected to be a much tighter contest given Forest's position in the table.

Sevilla vs Manchester United - Europa League quarter-final second leg

Rashford's injury will likely keep him out of both legs against Sevilla, but he should have returned by the time the semi-finals roll around if United advance.

The winner of this tie will face either Juventus or Sporting CP in the last four. While many expect United to advance, Sevilla's history with the Europa League can't be scoffed at. They've got the knack for turning up in this competition.

The footballing world will be willing Brighton on at Wembley as they attempt to reach their second-ever FA Cup final. Roberto De Zerbi's Seagulls have dazzled this season, but they'll be up against a United side that have excelled in the cups under Ten Hag so far.

The Dutchman will want Rashford back for the semi-final, but this contest might arrive just a few days too soon for the England international.

Tottenham vs Manchester United - Premier League

This is a potential return date for Rashford given the potential significance of the bout. While it's hard to envisage Tottenham going on a run down the stretch, they could be a protagonist in the top-four race alongside United.

Spurs currently occupy fifth spot and are three points adrift of United in fourth having played a game more. However, they take on fellow top four competitors Newcastle before this contest which will likely decide just how important this contest is for both teams.

Can you really see this Spurs side going up to St. James' Park and winning, though?
