Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has admitted he is unclear about what his immediate future holds in the final days of the summer transfer window.

Gravenberch failed to establish himself at Bayern last season following a big money move from Ajax, where he had earned a reputation as one of Europe's brightest midfield talents.

So far this season, the 21-year-old has played nine minutes of Bundesliga football and was an unused substitute in the recent German Super Cup.

Manchester United and Liverpool have both been in the market for midfielders before the end of the summer. 90min reported last Monday that Gravenberch has informed Bayern of his desire to move to the Premier League amid interest from the two north west giants.

United and Liverpool each made known their preference for a loan with option to buy. Bayern have been resistant to letting Gravenberch leave at all, but would rather see a permanent sale if it comes to it. Bayern already hold interest in Manchester City's Kalvin Phillips in the 'number six' role.

United have lined up a deal for Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat this summer, but it depends on player sales before anything can be finalised. They haven't ruled out moving for both the Moroccan and Gravenberch, although it would hinge on the type of deal for the latter.

Liverpool signed Wataru Endo from Stuttgart for £16m after missing out on both Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia to Chelsea. They too remain keen on Gravenberch and 90min reported on Friday that their talks with Bayern had reached a more advanced stage.

But time is running out for a deal to be agreed and Gravenberch himself has little indication of what is next, with three clubs he could plausibly be playing for this season.

"I don't know what will happen in the next days," the Dutchman told Christian Falk of Sport Bild.

Erik ten Hag played a significant role in Gravenberch’s development at Ajax, but that alone won't be enough when financial considerations are the more important factor in where he ends up.
