Manchester United have confirmed that Marcus Rashford will miss the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie against Sevilla.

The 25-year-old hobbled off in the final ten minutes of Saturday's 2-0 win over Everton in the Premier League with a suspected groin injury.

Fans have been anxiously awaiting news of Rashford's availability, with a demanding fixture schedule lying in wait for Erik ten Hag and his side, and United have now confirmed that he won't be facing Sevilla on Thursday night.

United haven't actually put a confirmed timeline for when Rashford is expected to return, and instead revealed that he'll be 'unavailable for a few games' but is 'expected to be back for the season run-in'.

Rashford has been in sensational form for United, scoring 28 goals in all competitions, and is fourth in the Premier League goalscoring charts - only Erling Haaland. Harry Kane and Ivan Toney have scored more -

20 of those goals have been scored since the World Cup finals in December, with Rashford spearheading United's push for a potential treble.

The Carabao Cup was lifted in February, when United beat Newcastle 2-0 at Wembley, and the club are not only Europa League quarter-finalists but also FA Cup semi-finalists.

The games Marcus Rashford could miss through injury

Rashford's is likely to miss not only the first leg against Sevilla - a team United have not beaten in three previous meetings - but also the return leg at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.

The trip to Nottingham Forest is another game Rashford is certain to miss out on, while there's question marks over whether he'll be available to face Brighton in the FA Cup semi-final, Tottenham and Aston Villa - all games that United must play before the end of the month.

United then have at least five games to play in May, depending on their European progress, which includes trips to Brighton, West Ham and Bournemouth, and home games against Wolves and Fulham.
