Man Utd midfielder to miss rest of the season with knee injury
Manchester United midfielder Marcel Sabitzer has been ruled out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury, the club have confirmed.
Sabitzer, who joined United on loan from Bayern Munich in January, has scored three times over 18 appearances for the club in 2023. The Austrian international was signed initially as cover for Christian Eriksen, who suffered an injury of his own in January's FA Cup win over Reading.
As it stands, Sabitzer may have made his last appearance for United, with his loan deal up at the end of the campaign and no option to buy included in the deal when it was concluded. No decision has been made on whether United will look to make the deal permanent but 90min understands he has impressed manager Erik ten Hag since joining.
Sabitzer is due to hold talks with new Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel, though United may revisit the situation as they look to improve their squad over the summer. United need two wins to ensure a top four finish and a return to the Champions League next season.

United confirmed the news of Sabitzer's setback with a statement posted on the club's official website on Monday, stating: "Marcel Sabitzer has suffered a meniscal injury which will, unfortunately, rule him out for the remainder of the season.
"Everyone at the club is disappointed to lose Marcel's services, as the Reds chase a strong finish to the season in the Premier League and FA Cup, and we are grateful for his contribution to our progress so far.
"We would like to wish Marcel well in having a speedy recovery."
