Man Utd offered chance to sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
- The Red Devils looking for a midfielder and chasing Sofyan Amrabat and Ryan Gravenberch
- Tottenham prepared to sell Hojbjerg this summer after three years in north London
- Erik ten Hag has worked with Danish international before at Bayern Munich
Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign wantaway Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, sources have confirmed to 90min.
The 28-year-old is into the final two years of his contract in north London and would be allowed to leave this summer if Tottenham received an acceptable bid.
90min revealed at the beginning of August that Spurs were in discussions with Atletico Madrid over a potential exit for Hojbjerg, but a £30m deal to move to the Spanish capital failed to materialise.
Hojbjerg has been pushed down the pecking order at Tottenham after Pape Matar Sarr's emergence in midfield - the 20-year-old Senegalese international is set to be rewarded for his progress with a new contract - and also has Yves Bissouma and Oliver Skipp to compete with for a first-team place.
The Danish international is being offered around, 90min understands, and United are among the clubs to have been contacted. The Red Devils are actively looking to strengthen in central areas and have been working on a deal for Fiorentina's Sofyan Amrabat.
Progress has been slow in negotiations though, despite Amrabat's strong desire to join United, and United have also considered making a move for Bayern Munich's Ryan Gravenberch, who is out of favour in Bavaria and unlikely to get many opportunites under Thomas Tuchel.

A move for Hojbjerg could be complicated by Spurs' desire to sell rather than facilitate a loan. That said, United manager Erik ten Hag has worked with Hojbjerg before, managing him for Bayern Munich's B team in 2013, so would be familiar with the qualities he could bring to a midfield that has looked dangerously exposed in the club's first two games.
Luke Shaw's latest injury setback has also seen United consider their options in the left-back market, with a number of high-profile players identified for a short-term loan. Chelsea's Marc Cucurella, Tottenham's Sergio Reguilon and Barcelona's Marcos Alonso are among those to have been offered to United, though the former did regain his place in Xavi's side were the thrilling 4-3 win over Villarreal on Sunday.
United are also expecting outgoings before the September 1 deadline passes. Goalkeeper Dean Henderson is poised to join Crystal Palace in a deal worth an initial £15m, while former captain Harry Maguire continues to be linked with West Ham United. The Conference League winners are interested in restarting talks, this time over a potential loan deal, but movement is unlikely unless United are able to bring another player in.
