The Man Utd lineup that should start against AC Milan
Arguably the biggest game of Manchester United's season will take place at San Siro this Thursday when face AC Milan in the Europa League last 32 second leg.
The two sides battled to a 1-1 draw last week, with both teams hit by injuries in the build up to the tie. Amad Diallo scored the first goal of his Old Trafford career before a Simon Kjaer equaliser in second half injury time gave the Serie A side the advantage going into the second leg.
Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can welcome back some players from injury for this game and now needs to make a decision on whether to recall those players immediately or use them from the bench. United need a win to guarantee progression inside 90 minutes, so let's take a look at the team they should select with to ensure the best chance of getting their seventh win on Italian soil.
1. Goalkeeper and defenders
Dean Henderson (GK) - Henderson has kept three clean sheets in his four games while filling in for David de Gea and will likely keep his place for this second leg.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB) - United's first choice right back, Wan-Bissaka had a good game in the first leg and should continue in the team here.
Victor Lindelof (CB) - Eric Bailly has been left at home for this one, meaning Lindelof will likely partner regular partner Maguire in central defence.
Harry Maguire (CB) - The skipper starts whenever he is fit and will need to continue his good form in this one.
Luke Shaw (LB) - Arguably United's player of the season so far, Shaw should come into the side after being rested in the first leg to add an extra dimension to the attack.
2. Midfielders
Fred (CM) - The Brazilian has featured regularly under Solskjaer and his energy is often called upon in games this important.
Scott McTominay (CM) - With Paul Pogba likely to start on the bench, McTominay should continue alongside Fred with his usual energy and attacking impetus from deep.
Bruno Fernandes (AM) - 23 goals and 13 assists this season say it all - Milan have to stop Fernandes to stop United.
3. Forwards
Daniel James (RW) - The Welshman has been brought into the fold in recent weeks and even scored three goals in three consecutive appearances back in February. With Cavani and Martial out, Greenwood will likely be moved infield with James on the right.
Mason Greenwood (ST) - Has been putting in great performances but just missing a goal recently. Thursday would be the perfect time to find the net.
Marcus Rashford (LW) - Probably the most important player in the Red Devils' attack, United were toothless without Rashford in the first leg so he's got to start here.
