Manchester United welcome Newcastle United to Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils have lost just one of their last six meetings with the Magpies but have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of them. The last time Manchester United went longer without a shutout against Newcastle was a sequence of 13 matches between 1956 and 1966.

Here's the XI Erik ten Hag may deploy to rediscover some parsimony in this fixture.

GK: David De Gea - The Spaniard is set to make his 500th appearance for the club against Newcastle this Sunday.

RB: Diogo Dalot - The right-back's sister, Mariana, released the first album of her musical career - circulo - this month.

CB: Raphael Varane - Despite arriving on the pitch in stoppage time, Varane managed to make three clearances and one block during a frantic finale which saw United hold on to all three points against Everton last weekend.

CB: Lisandro Martinez - The scrappy Argentine has made a team-high 15 interceptions this season.

LB: Luke Shaw - In 2019, Shaw became the first United player since Steve Bruce in 1995 to receive more than ten Premier League yellow cards in a single season. The fullback has only been cautioned once this term.

CM: Casemiro - After a full Premier League debut laced with highs and lows, Casemiro may be best served to return to the invisible role of influence which defined his Real Madrid career.

CM: Christian Eriksen - Having being named as a substitute for the first time this season on Thursday night, Eriksen will surely be swiftly reinstalled into the starting XI.

AM: Bruno Fernandes - Such is the form of Newcastle's effervescent Guimaraes, a genuine debate is being held about which club has the best Bruno.

RW: Antony - The Brazilian has only made three Premier League starts for the club but is the team's joint-top scorer this term after scoring in every domestic appearance he's made so far.

ST: Cristiano Ronaldo - 1% of Ronaldo's 700 career club goals have been plundered across his last five appearances against the Magpies.

LW: Marcus Rashford - While he was still a teenager, Rashford took it upon himself to hire Anthony Joshua's strength and conditioning coach for a pre-preseason in 2017.
