Man Utd predicted lineup vs Wolves - Premier League
- Man Utd are preparing for just their second Premier League outing of 2024
- Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez have recently returned from long-term injuries
- Marcus Rashford is set to be back in the matchday squad
Manchester United travel to Wolverhampton Wanderers for just their second Premier League outing of 2024 on Thursday night.
Much of the discourse regarding the Red Devils in the new year has surrounded off-field events after Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS completed their investment. However, United have so far been forced to endure a quiet winter window.
Erik ten Hag will be asked to maximise the talent he's currently got at his disposal for the rest of the season if he's to keep his job under the new regime beyond the summer. United are unbeaten through three games in 2024, two of which were wins over League One's Wigan Athletic and fourth-tier Newport County, but there's nonetheless been a period of on-pitch serenity for the Dutchman.
Here's how Ten Hag could set his side up for a tricky trip to Molineux.
Man Utd predicted lineup vs Wolves (4-2-3-1)
GK: Andre Onana - Following a forgettable Africa Cup of Nations campaign, Onana will return to the Man Utd lineup at Wolves.
RB: Aaron Wan-Bissaka - Potential unavailabilities at left-back could force Wan-Bissaka back into the XI. The defender has been linked with a move away this month.
CB: Raphael Varane - It seems as if all is well between Varane and Ten Hag once more, with the experienced Frenchman enjoying a sustained run in the side.
CB: Lisandro Martinez - The Butcher, as he is known among his adoring public, was back in the XI at Newport and is now poised to make his first Premier League start since September.
LB: Diogo Dalot - Luke Shaw is a fresh injury concern from the weekend and there are doubts over his status for Thursday. If Shaw joins Tyrell Malacia on the sidelines, Dalot will shift over to the opposite flank.

CM: Casemiro - The serial Champions League winner enjoyed the luxuries of Newport after a long spell out at the weekend. Casemiro will be looking to rediscover his form from 2022/23 during the second half of the season.
CM: Kobbie Mainoo - Ten Hag could turn to Scott McTominay or Christian Eriksen, but the Dutchman would be wise to retain young Mainoo in his midfield pivot. Mainoo was on the scoresheet on Sunday.
AM: Bruno Fernandes - There are no doubts regarding Fernandes' status in the side. The Portuguese playmaker remains the beating heart of United's possession play.
RW: Antony - After scoring his first goal of the season on Sunday, Antony should get a chance to build some momentum down the right flank amid a difficult campaign.
ST: Rasmus Hojlund - With Anthony Martial out for the long haul, Hojlund will earn a lengthy run in the starting XI without much competition.
LW: Alejandro Garnacho - Marcus Rashford should return to the matchday squad following his recent misdemeanours, but an appearance off the bench is more likely than a start.
