Man Utd and Tottenham join Liverpool & Arsenal in race to sign Andre
- Andre is expected to leave Fluminense during the January transfer window
- The midfielder has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs
- Copa Libertadores champions willing to sell their star man for around £30m
Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have joined Liverpool and Arsenal in the race to sign Andre, sources have confirmed to 90min.
The midfielder was Fluminense's star man in their recent, and first ever, Copa Libertadores triumph, earning plaudits for his impressive showing in the gruelling final win over Boca Juniors at the Maracana - a game Flu won thanks to an extra-time goal from John Kennedy.
Andre's form has led to consistent links with a move away from his boyhood club over the last few months. 90min previously reported that both Liverpool and Fulham had been keen on signing the midfielder during the summer. However, Fluminense president Mario Bittencourt confirmed that the former failed with a bid due to the player wanting to stay "until the end of the [Brazilian] season".
With the Brazilian domestic season now almost at an end - Flu have five games left to play - sources recently confirmed to 90min that the club now fully expect Andre to make a move to Europe during the January transfer window, and are willing to accept an offer in the region of £30m for his services.
The 22-year-old is certainly not short of options ahead of his move away from Fluminense. 90min understands that, despite Liverpool signing Alexis Mac Allister, Wataru Endo, Dominik Soboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch over the summer, they retain an interest in Andre's services heading into January.
Along with Liverpool, sources recently confirmed that Arsenal's sporting director Edu personally scouted the midfielder during a recent trip to Brazil. The Gunners are keen to strengthen their options in the middle of the park due to Thomas Partey's recent injury lay-off.
90min understands that fellow Premier League giants Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have also now entered the race to sign the talented Brazilian. However, potential approaches from both clubs would rely on selling a player first.
Spurs are keen to sign Andre if they are able to sell Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg first. The Danish international has recently been the subject of interest from Juventus, with sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli checking in on the player's availability while the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last week.
Manchester United's potential move for Andre is reliant upon the future of Casemiro. The veteran midfielder has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League in 2024 and the Red Devils have drawn up a list of potential replacements - Andre is among those names mentioned.
