Manchester United welcome Paris Saint-Germain to Old Trafford in the Champions League on Wednesday evening, where a point will be enough to secure qualification to the knockout stages for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

The hosts pulled off an impressive late victory away in Paris in October in a repeat of their emphatic 2019 Champions League round of 16 comeback, with Marcus Rashford securing all three points 87 minutes into the game with a fine strike, cancelling out an Anthony Martial own goal.

Les Parisiens cannot afford to slip to a third defeat at the hands of United; RB Leipzig visit Istanbul Basaksehir earlier in the evening and are level with PSG on six points, meaning things are set to go down to the wire in Group H.

Team News

Paul Pogba has been absent with an ankle injury and hasn't featured for United since the return of club football. Scott McTominay has also missed out, but Solskjaer revealed after their win against Southampton he hoped both could return to training ahead of Wednesday's game.

David de Gea and Alex Telles were both substituted with injuries at the weekend, leaving them in doubt for the clash. United will be hopeful Telles especially can recover, as Luke Shaw also being on the shelf means Brandon Williams could be their only fit left back option.

Martial travelled with the squad at the weekend but missed out due to illness and isn't likely to be available. Deadline day signing Edinson Cavani bagged a brace against the Saints, however, and could keep his place in the starting XI ahead of a visit from his former employers.

For PSG, Juan Bernat remains the only long term absentee having suffered an ACL injury on the opening day of their season. Julian Draxler is still recovering from a thigh problem, but Wednesday could prove too soon for a return.

In defence, Thilos Kehrer is expected to undergo surgery on a groin injury and is doubtful. Marquinhos and Keylor Navas missed out through injury at the weekend, but Thomas Tuchel remains hopeful they will be available by Wednesday.

Recent Form

Despite the Red Devils confusing the entire footballing world by losing Premier League games and then winning difficult Champions League matches shortly after, they come into this one off the back of a late comeback victory against Southampton on Sunday.

United went into half time 2-0 down, but turned the game on its head following the introduction of Cavani, who set up Bruno Fernandes and put away two of his own in textbook poacher fashion.

Cavani remains PSG's record scorer with 200 goals in 301 games during his seven years with the French side, but a goal against PSG will be his 50th in UEFA club competition.

Fortunes weren't quite the same for Tuchel's squad over the weekend. They were halted at home by Bordeaux and couldn't hold on to the 2-1 lead given to them by Neymar and Moise Kean in the first half.

Prediction

Teams should always be looking for the win no matter what, but with a point enough to see United qualify from the group, don't be surprised to see them happy with a draw in this one.

Injuries have hit their squad suddenly and committing too much could see them exploited by one of the most impressive front threes in Europe in Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Maria. PSG need three points so, despite being the visitors, the onus is on them to do the attacking.

The Red Devils have shown what they can do on the counter attack in big games, so the confidence in the approach will be there. No risks taken against a dangerous side, this one will end a stalemate.
