Two European giants meet in the secondary competition as Manchester United take on AC Milan in the Europa League last 16 on Thursday night.

The Reds come into the game off the back of a huge 2-0 win over local rivals Manchester City in the Premier League, which they hope to build on after some poor form in recent weeks. AC Milan will provide stiff competition too, with the Rossoneri sitting in second place in Serie A six points off the top of the table.

With injuries and rotation on the agenda for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, he must decide on a team that gets him the best of both worlds when it comes to those things. Let's take a look at the team that should start at Old Trafford.

1. Goalkeeper and Defenders

Dean Henderson (GK) - With David de Gea's continued absence from the side, Henderson should continue in goal.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB) -
The young defender has been in excellent form and will hope that another good performance could earn him an England call-up.

Eric Bailly (CB) -
Bailly started both games in the previous round and with Victor Lindelof's back injury being managed, he'll start again.

Harry Maguire (CB) -
The skipper has played every minute in the Premier League this season and will retain his place here.

Alex Telles (LB) -
Despite Luke Shaw's stunning performance in the Manchester derby, he's been carrying a knock so Telles can come in to afford him a rest.

2. Midfielders

Nemanja Matic (CM) - The Serbian midfielder has played well when called upon in recent games and should start in a rotated midfield.

Scott McTominay (CM) - With Paul Pogba out injured, McTominay has stepped up in his place and played well so should get the nod.

Bruno Fernandes (AM) - United's most important player scored twice in the last round and will be relied upon again in the number ten position.

3. Forwards

Mason Greenwood (RW) - The youngster has just been missing a goal from recent performances and should get another chance in this game from the start.

Anthony Martial (ST) - Had his best performance of the season against Man City and should start to continue that form.

Daniel James (LW) - With Marcus Rashford likely to miss the game after picking up an ankle problem, James' form in recent weeks has earned him the starting berth in his place.
